Christy's Story

In December of 2010, after five years of trying to conceive, my husband and I found out we were expecting. We had faithfully been working out at SNAP each morning before work. My plan was to continue eating healthy and working out the next nine months, but my body and the little miracle inside had other plans. During my pregnancy, I gained a lot of weight quickly due to thyroid issues. When I thought it couldn't get any worse I was diagnosed with high blood pressure due to pregnancy and would not be able to work out like I had anticipated. On July 25, 2011 little Gabriel was born. One look at him made the near 100 pounds I gained all worth it.

In the back of my mind I accepted that my body would probably never be the same, but I knew I had to be the healthiest I could for my new baby. After my doctor released me to begin exercising, I was back in the gym. Some of the initial fluid weight I lost pretty quickly, around 40 pounds, but then I hit a plateau and was discouraged because my workout routine was boring. I had noticed Sarah training her clients and the workouts looked fun and challenging. I knew this is what I needed. I asked her about personal training and she gave me all the information. I will say I believe in divine appointments and meeting Sarah was one for me. She designed an exercise routine specifically for me and was with me every step of the way. She encouraged me to push through when on my own I would have quit. I looked forward to my workouts, as they were both physically and mentally challenging. It was so rewarding to do certain exercises I thought I couldn't do and now I can do real pushups! Within a few months I lost nearly 60 pounds. My body has transformed and I am in better shape now than I was before I was pregnant!! It is the best feeling in the world to wear my size 4 pre- pregnancy jeans.
